Coconut Plantation, Ko Olina HI Homes & Real Estate
Page Directory: Neighborhood | Amenities | Features of the Residences
Sitting in the beautiful Ko Olina Resort is Coconut Plantation, a stunning gated community of homes built in 2004. These homes are situated close to the Pacific Ocean and are surrounded by a beloved and famous golf course, with several amenities of their own within the neighborhood. Although (like the rest of the Ko Olina Resort) Coconut Plantation homes are a bit isolated from the rest of Kapolei, Farrington Highway ensures that there is a simple and easy route to larger department stores, necessities, and activities that may not be found within the resort. However, the countless features of this resort neighborhood are more than enough to keep you busy and feeling like you are in a constant state of calm vacationing while at your own residence.
Coconut Plantation is also one of the few communities on O'ahu that allows legal short-term vacation rentals.

The Neighborhood
The Coconut Plantation homes are part of the larger Ko Olina Beach Resort, which is a collection of properties including the Beach Villas at Ko Olina, the Four Seasons Resort O'ahu, Aulani (A Disney Resort & Spa), and Marriot's Ko Olina Beach Club. As a result, the Coconut Plantation homes are nearby three man-made beaches- Honu Lagoon (the beach dedicated to the Beach Villas at Ko Olina), Nai'a Lagoon (dedicated to the Ko Olina Beach Club), and Kohola Lagoon (dedicated to the Four Seasons Resort O'ahu and Aulani). Guests can also visit the Ko Olina Golf Club, which stretches the length of the Ko Olina Beach Resort and surrounds the Ko Olina Kai residential sub-neighborhoods (including Coconut Plantation). This is a gorgeous sprawling course with water features and a clubhouse, as well as the Ladybug Café coffeeshop.
At the entrance to the main part of the neighborhood is the Ko Olina Center, a shopping mall with stores like Crazy Shirts, CocoNene, Honolua Surf Co., Things Unique, Tommy Bahama, and Mahina Ko Olina, as well as dining/drink spots like Starbucks, Tropic Poke, Eggs 'n Things, Mekiko Cantina, Island Vintage Coffee, Black Sheep Ice Cream, and Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman. Given that there are no major shopping locations within the neighborhood of Ko Olina, this shopping center provides some spaces for people to grab a nice dinner, do some window shopping, and spend time walking around outdoors.
For those who do need to make larger grocery or daily necessities purchases, Ko Olina Resort residents can take Farrington Highway all the way to central Kapolei where you will find a Costco Wholesale, Target, Home Depot, Safeway, Walmart, and much more. Here you will also find entertainment centers like Regal Kapolei Commons and Consolidated Theatres Kapolei, which make a great activity for those who enjoy catching the latest movies in a leather recliner, big-screen experience.
For a more family-friendly and fun resort-style experience, central Kapolei is also home to the only water park in Hawai'i- Wet'n'Wild Hawai'i. This is a 29-acre tropical waterslide park that includes slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and multiple concession stands for a great all-day family experience. This unique location sits just 11 minutes by car from the Beach Villas.

Features of the Residences
Coconut Plantation homes are mostly 2-level homes featuring between 2 and 4 bedrooms. These homes run larger than many others on O'ahu (especially for short-term rentals in the Honolulu area), with the 2-bedroom units beginning at nearly 1,100 square feet and going up to over 2,100 square feet, the 3-bedrooms starting at over 1,500 square feet and going up to over 2,000 square feet, and the 4-bedrooms featuring over 2,100 square feet of space. Something else that separates these residences from others on the island is the number of private lanais featured in each unit- 2 or even 3 per home, to be specific!
