Built in 2006, Hokua was the first real luxary condo in Honolulu, with many of the units being pre-purchased prior to the building's construction launch in 2003. Hokua is a 40-story condo housing 247 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom unit layouts, and it was developed by the MacNaughton Group, the Kobayashi Group, and A&B Properties.
The Neighborhood
Located in one of the most sought-after spots in all of Honolulu, Hokua has access to a variety of large shopping centers, movie theaters, restaurants, cafés, parks, and beaches. Right across the street is Ala Moana Beach Park and Ala Moana Beach, which are perfect locations for light surfing, bodyboarding, stand-up paddling, or just lounging and relaxing. Likewise, a couple minutes further Southeast is Magic Island, a small peninsula offshooting Ala Moana Beach Park which is a popular destination for picnicking, walking pets, or gathering to have clear views of the 4th of July fireworks.
Nearby are various shopping locations as well, such as the largest open-air shopping center in the world- the Ala Moana Shopping Center. This center hosts hundreds of designer boutiques, large chain stores, smaller shops, as well as a cafeteria with many incredible restaurants. A bit firther up the street on Ke'eaumoku Street is Walmart and Sam's Club, and in the opposite direction but just a couple blocks away is Whole Foods Market, the largest in the entire state.
