The Top New Buildings Coming Soon to Kaka'ako

Kaka'ako is one of the most popular up-and-coming neighborhoods in all of O'ahu, with countless additions to the neighborhood over the past several years in the form of restaurants, cafés, and activities. However, one of the main additions to the neighborhood has been in the form of residential buildings, of which there have been many in the past several years. As a result, Kaka'ako has become an extremely popular residential area for families, pet owners, and those who want to be close to the heart of Honolulu.
This residential development has no intention of slowing soon, with several new projects being introduced to the Kaka'ako lineup within the next few years, whether they are close to being completed or are still in the planning phases. To help you get better acquainted with the additions to the area, we have compiled a list of the top new buildings coming soon to Kaka'ako.

One of the most recently approved condominium projects in Kaka'ako lies within the Ward Village master-planned community lineup- Kalae. Kalae will be the 10th luxury residential condominium in the Ward Village community and is located on the front row parcel of the Ward Village neighborhood. In other words, Kalae is located directly across from Kewalo Harbor, and in combination with the upcoming Ala Moana Pedestrian Walkway, Kalae residents will be able to easily travel from their residences to the nearby harbor as well as Ala Moana Beach Park.
In terms of the residences and amenities, Kalae is set to feature 330 1-3BR units and possibly separate 4-bedroom penthouse units. Amenities in this building will include tens of thousands of open and recreation space, sustainable construction, ground-level commercial space, pools, a spa, courtyards, amenity decks on all levels, and more.

Alia will be the 9th residential project added to the Our Kaka'ako neighborhood, standing 400 feet tall and bringing 477 new homes to the area. Alia is also set to feature 3,500 square feet of ground-level commercial space and will be located West of Ward Village.
Alia is expected to begin construction in 2023 and be completed in 2026, with units beginning to sell by the end of 2022. Alia, like Kalae, will be able to easily utilize the upcoming Ala Moana Pedestrian Walkway thanks to its proximity to the building site, which means that Alia residents will be able to conveniently access the Kewalo Harbor as well as Ala Moana Beach Park.

One of the most recent additions to the Ward Village lineup is The Park at Ward Village, which is set to stand 41 stories tall and bring 546 1-3BR units to the area. It is planned to be completed in 2025, and it will be located directly next to Victoria Ward Park.
Some of the amenities expected to be included on the building's level 8 amenity deck include pools, a spa, a children's play area, BBQ cabanas, grilling stations, a tennis court, a fitness center, a dog park, and more. In terms of residential features, there will be light and dark color schemes for residents to choose from, and every unit will feature gorgeous contemporary finishes, oak wood flooring, Juliet balconies in the living room, and high 8'8" ceilings.

Another one of the most recently approved additions to the Our Kaka'ako neighborhood is Kahuina, which is planning to introduce 859 new homes to Kaka'ako as well as a large 35,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space. Kahuina is expected to begin construction in 2023 and be completed in 2026, with units beginning to be sold sometime in late 2022 or early 2023.
There is little known about the amenities planned to be offered within this condominium, but due to the large size of the project, prospective residents can expect luxurious and abundant on-site perks.
