Ala Moana is an urban community located in the center of Honolulu, hosting many popular tourist and landmark structures such as the Ala Moana Center and Ala Moana Beach Park. This area is also home to a plethora of condominiums and commercial spaces, with countless restaurants, businesses, stores, and residential locations situated around the area. For this reason, this area is one of the busiest in all of Honolulu, with the constant buzz from shoppers, pedestrians, and traffic traveling around the streets.

The Neighborhood

The Ala Moana neighborhood itself is relatively small, stretching from Ala Moana Beach Park up to South King Street and from the edge of President William McKinley High School to Kalakaua Avenue. However, the number of buildings and activities packed into this neighborhood makes it one of the most popular and busy districts in Honolulu.

As previously mentioned, one of the most popular spots in Ala Moana is the Ala Moana Center, which is the largest open-air shopping center in the world and hosts hundreds of designer boutiques, large chain stores, smaller shops, restaurants, and even year-round live performances. As a result, there are many opportunities for employment in this massive retail center.

Also stationed around Ala Moana are other large shopping chain stores, such as Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, and Foodland. Countless restaurants and various shops are also scattered around the area, making this a great location to try out new "hole-in-the-wall" shops and restaurants.

There are several condo buildings in the Ala Moana Area, including Moana Pacific, Nauru Tower, Kapiolani Residence, One Ala Moana, and Park Lane. However, many new condo buildings are in planning or development for this area, which will make Ala Moana an even more popular place to live in and visit. Some of these new developments include Azure Ala Moana, Sky Ala Moana, the Central Ala Moana, the Park on Ke'eaumoku, and the ultra-luxury The Residences at Mandarin Oriental Honolulu. These spaces will bring tens of thousands of square feet of extra commercial space to the area, creating an even more bustling environment for creativity, entertainment, shopping, dining, and business.
